One size does not fit all. Receive incentives for custom-designed energy efficiency projects that meet your business needs and budget. Incentives are offered at a rate of up to $0.15 per kWh of the first year’s energy savings when installing electric technologies.
How do custom incentives work?
Custom incentives from TVA EnergyRight® and your local power company give you the flexibility to make energy improvements that are unique to your facility and operations.
Custom energy efficiency incentives are available to commercial and industrial customers. (Subject to eligibility requirements and funding availability.) Detailed energy calculations demonstrating a recordable baseline of usage and measurable projected energy savings for a one-year period are required.
What projects qualify for custom incentives?
There’s a lot of flexibility with our custom incentives; let us know what you need, and we’ll find out if you qualify. Examples of qualifying custom incentive projects may include:
Non-standard heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system retrofits or conversions, including chiller system optimizations or equipment replacements.
Pumps and fans.
Control systems.
Process heating and cooling.
Other custom energy efficiency upgrades, as approved by TVA EnergyRight.
Compressed air.

Custom incentive requirements
Detailed energy calculations are required.*
All projects require pre-approval.
Projects may require additional measurement and verification.
DO NOT purchase, remove or install any equipment until all pr-eapproval requirements are completed and a formal Application Approval Notice has been received via email.
Incentive payments are capped at 70% of the material and engineering design cost.
Subject to funding availability. Additional rules may apply.
A minimum incentive of $1,500 is required per application.

Electric resistance heat projects are not eligible.

Savings estimates can be submitted using proprietary spreadsheet calculations with methodology and inputs provided or vetted simulation tools (eQUEST, Trane TRACE, PSAT, etc.)
