Resilience 360° — Backup power when you need it most.

Resilience 360° is a new TVA EnergyRight® program that uses vetted, third-party developers to install, operate and maintain backup generators at your site to keep your business running during outages, while also supporting the grid during peak demand.

Why Resilience 360° is a smart move for your business.

Reliable power. Lower costs. Long-term value. It’s a win-win.

Your facility gets power during an emergency, and TVA can dispatch power, as needed, for quick peak-time support.

Operational resiliency during an outage or emergency.

No ownership or maintenance responsibilities.

Cost-sharing to offset investment costs.

How does Resilience 360° work?

Power where it’s needed, control where it counts.

    • TVA maintains a list of vetted experts who can install generators at your business.
Third-party companies (called developers) install backup generators at participant sites to create a microgrid.

    • You and TVA share the generator.
These generators serve two purposes: to help your business during a power outage and to assist TVA in powering the grid during periods of high electricity demand.

    • TVA pays part of the cost.
TVA signs an agreement to help pay the developers a monthly fee over a period of 5 to 20 years. Your business and the developer work out an agreement to cover project costs.
    • Generators are in front of the meter.
That means they’re first and foremost your safeguard—ready to keep your operations running and provide peace of mind during an outage—while still supporting the grid when called on.

    • Your business gets access to automatic backup power.
When there’s a qualified resiliency event, the system automatically turns on the backup power, so your business can keep running.

Find a developer.

Vetted developers install shared generators to support your facility's needs during an outage, providing peace of mind that you’ll have power when you need it.

  • The developer joins Resilience 360° by signing TVA’s Aggregated Purchase Power Agreement (APPA), which establishes the program rules and payment terms.
  • Your Local Power Company (LPC) authorizes approved developers to operate in the area through an Enabling Agreement.
  • Once the agreements are in place, we add the developers to our approved list.
  • Your business checks out our list of developers and starts the conversation.
  • Then choose a developer for your business's project. (Remember, TVA does not endorse any single vendor; we offer approved options.)
  • The developer teams up with your business to design a system that fits its backup needs and supports TVA’s grid goals. Together, you finalize a Host Customer Agreement.

Approved developers required.

Your business will need an approved developer for this program.

Structure the deal to suit your needs.

Working with your developer, your business will determine the cost-sharing, agreement length, and maintenance responsibilities for the project. They are the key factors shaping how to balance upfront investment, long-term value, and ongoing reliability.

  • Cost-sharing: TVA capacity payments will offset part of the project cost. Your operation and the developer will agree on how to cover the rest.
  • Length of agreement: Contract terms can range from 5 to 20 years, with longer commitments generally delivering greater overall value.
  • Upgrades and maintenance: Developers are usually responsible for installation and ongoing upkeep to ensure reliability throughout the agreement. If extra work or upgrades are needed, your business may need to negotiate to share upgrade costs with the developer.

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

Here are some of the most common questions about how Resilience 360° works and what it can do for your business.

What is Resilience 360°?

Resilience 360° is a TVA EnergyRight® program that uses vetted developers to install, operate and maintain backup generators at your site. It keeps your business running during outages while also supporting the grid during high demand.

How does the cost-sharing work?

TVA helps offset the cost by paying developers a monthly fee over the term of the agreement. You and your chosen developer then work out how to cover the remaining project costs, making backup power more affordable.

Why are the generators installed “in front of the meter”?

Front-of-meter placement means the generator is your safeguard first. It automatically powers your business during an outage, while also staying connected to TVA’s system to support the grid when needed.

What happens during an outage or resiliency event?

Your facility’s generator turns on automatically, allowing your business to continue operations uninterrupted. These safeguards provide peace of mind that critical operations won’t stop.

How do I get started with Resilience 360°?

Start by checking TVA’s approved list of developers. Once your Local Power Company authorizes developers in your area, your business can select one to design a system tailored to your facility’s needs and finalize a Host Customer Agreement.
