Energy efficiency isn’t one-size-fits-all. With TVA EnergyRight, you get expert support, flexible incentives and a clear path to designing improvements that match your facility’s unique needs. Custom incentives are subject to pre-approval and funding availability.

Built for complex facilities.

Custom incentives support specialized equipment, unique processes and non-standard upgrades that don’t fit traditional incentive paths. Qualifying projects may include nonstandard HVAC upgrades or chiller optimizations, pump and fan upgrades, control system improvements, process heating and cooling solutions, and compressed air projects.

Guidance from start to finish.

From scoping to documentation, our energy experts help streamline the custom incentive process so your project moves confidently from idea to installation. Payments are capped at 70% of the material and engineering design cost. A minimum incentive of $1,500 is required per application.

Savings you can measure.

You’ll need to demonstrate energy calculations showing energy baseline and projected annual savings. This enables you to get a clear view of your ROI before the project begins. Projects may require additional measurement and verification.

Whether you're upgrading HVAC controls, optimizing process loads or improving compressed air systems, custom incentives adapt to your facility and budget.

NOTE: DO NOT purchase, remove or install any equipment until all pre-approval requirements are completed and a formal Application Approval Notice has been received via email. Electric resistance heat projects are NOT eligible.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, boosted energy efficiency with a custom chiller optimization upgrade. With expert support from a TVA Preferred Partner and a $243,854 TVA incentive, the hospital now saves 2,960,486 kWh and $251,641 annually. The upgrade cut system strain and shortened the project’s payback period from 2.3 years to less than 1.4 years, delivering long-term savings and smarter performance.
